The 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit

The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 extended and expanded energy tax credits through 2032. For 2026, the credit covers 30% of the cost of qualifying energy-efficient improvements, up to annual limits:

• Windows and skylights: 30% of cost, up to $600 per year
• Exterior doors: 30% of cost, up to $250 per door ($500 max for all doors)
• Overall annual limit: $1,200 total for windows + doors + insulation combined

Which Products Qualify?

Products must meet ENERGY STAR Most Efficient criteria for your climate zone (Illinois is Zone 5).
