When this Glen Ellyn family inherited the home from grandparents, they wanted to honor the traditional architecture while bringing everything up to modern standards. The original exterior hadn't been updated since 1988. We replaced the roof, all 20 windows, the entry door, added a storm door, installed James Hardie siding, and new gutters — essentially giving the home an entirely new skin. The white Hardie siding with black window frames and a rich Mahogany-stained entry door created a timeless look that both honored the home's traditional roots and felt thoroughly modern.
